General information
For the production of premixes, feed additives, and mixed feed, to enrich and balance fish diets with threonine.

Biological effects
L-threonine for feed is a preparation produced by microbiological means.
It contributes to the growth of skeletal muscle, is part of immune proteins and of a number of digestive enzymes, plays a major role in the synthesis of purines and glycine, is a source of energy, regulates feed consumption.
Amino acid deficiency (methionine, tryptophan, and tyrosine) in the majority of farmed fish (carp, channel catfish, African catfish, etc.) is usually manifested by the loss of appetite and slow growth. 

Usage 
L-threonine is added during the production of mixed feed, feed additives and premixes in animal feed enterprises using the existing mixing techniques.
The amount of added amino acid is determined by the protein level in mixed feed and by the amino acid composition of the feed components. L-threonine is compatible with the components of fish feed.
Fish products may be used for food purposes after application of L-threonine without restrictions, including the cases of forced slaughter.

Safety measures
It is necessary to comply with the general rules of hygiene and safety provided for handling drugs for animals.

Storage conditions
L-threonine is usually stored in the original container in a dry place protected from direct sunlight at room temperature below 25 °C.
This amino acid should not be used beyond the expiration date.
L-threonine should be kept out of reach of children.
Shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
